Northey - Guitar
After being handed Appetite for Destruction at 10, I fell in love with hard rock, especially Slash's unmatched playing. As I explored different genres in secondary school, I found my passion for metal. My musical style leans heavily on old school heavy metal like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, but also has major injections of early 2000s metalcore such as Trivium, Killswitch Engage and Parkway Drive. I’m particularly inspired by Adrian Smith; his emotional lead playing and songwriting is phenomenal.
In terms of lyrics, they often stem from ideas from Dalton, or we collaborate as a group. We tackle both dark stories and fantasy themes. For example, "God Knows" tells the tragic story of Warren Jeffs and his crimes, culminating in the chorus that asserts he won't find peace in the afterlife.
The most memorable moment for me was starting the band—making calls to Danny and Oli, the anticipation of hearing back from Nath, and finally finding Dalton for vocals. The magic of that first time all being together is something I’ll never forget.
My individual goal is to write the best music I can, while as a band, we aim to progress, develop our sound, and start gigging more. Ultimately, we dream of playing for as many people as possible, which is what every musician hopes for!
